Johannes Van Duyn
18th CENTURY DUTCH DELFT PARROT LID VASE – signed Duyn
A rare and beautiful 18th Century Dutch Delft covered vase of octagonal baluster form, painted with Oriental flowering shrubs in underglaze blue. Signed on the base with Johannes Van Duyn’s signature. It still amazingly retains its undamaged parrot finial cover – they are usually missing. It comes with provenance – the label on the base states it was once part of The Anthony Collection and is numbered 161. It also comes with a cut out from 1980’s auction catalogue detailing the same vase. This vase is interesting as it has a crooked neck.
