ANTIQUE COBALT VAPO-CRESOLENE CO BOTTLE – 5.25” size
A rare cobalt blue glass Vapo-Cresolene Co poison bottle that once held a liquid for vaporising by the bedside to help cure lung conditions. It is in the shape KS-14 as described by Rudy Kuln in the book ‘Poison Bottle Workbook’. KU standing for unusual or odd shaped bottles. It is square with two sides with hobnails with ‘Vapo-cresolene Co’ down the centre of one side, and ‘US Pat June 18th 1895’’, the other two sides are flat. The lip is applied, the bottle has no stopper. The bottle is very slightly wonky. This is the larger 5 ¼ inch size, and only shows the US Patent date. The smaller bottle has British and US patent dates for 1891.

Condition: Couple of small chips on the base, couple of flea bites on the lip, surface marks and patination, mainly inside.
