A charming little gateleg table of particularly small proportions, ideal for a cottage to serve as a small tea table or occasional table. It occupies a small space when the leaves are folded down.
The table has turned legs joined by square section stretchers. The two plank leaves form an oval top when in use, the table is adequate as a small two-seater for light dining or to be laid out for afternoon tea etc.
Date: early 19th Century
Condition: Good functional and sturdy condition overall. Attractive patina and nut brown colour with a degree of wear commensurate with age. There are a few historic woodworm holes. The hinges and screws appear to be original. The top has some dark ring marks and a few defects.
