A rare rectangular amber poison bottle. Ribbed on the sides and front, with Not To Be Taken embossed on the front and ‘179’ on the base plus some other indistinct numbers. It retains its original paper label for Frank Fleet M.P.S., Dispensing Chemist, 4 Winchester St, Overton, Telephone 201. Faintly handwritten in pencil is ‘Carbon Tetrachloride’. This was once used as a household spot cleansing fluid, and was also used in fire extinguishers and as a ‘fumigant to kill insects in grain’. Needless to say it was phased out due to toxicity concerns.
