MIDDLE EASTERN CASKET
A charming ‘Cairoware’ style brass casket / box with lovely applied silver and copper overlay.
The lid and the front panel have silver Arabic type script, the sides and rear have part foliate and other elaborate designs in silver with copper dots.
The lid is secured by a simple catch.
Supplied in uncleaned condition.
Date: early 20th Century
Condition: Functional used condition with aged appearance. The casket has been left uncleaned and has a good antique colour with fairly uniform tarnish all over, tarnish spots on the inside. The base has some shallow dents.
