ANTIQUE CHEMIST BOTTLE WITH ORIGINAL LABELS
An antique cylindrical clear glass bottle with its original labels for ‘Napthol’. The chemist’s name is on the label – ‘Wright, Layman & Umney’. The bottle retains its original fabric covered cork, which is removable. The cork still has its paper label on the top although it is rather worn around the edges. There is also a label on the back. The top of the bottle is applied. The base is embossed with an anchor logo and the numbers 852 and 04.
Here is some interesting history about the chemist (they were famous for making Wright’s Coal Tar Soap): Wright, Layman & Umney
Age: circa 1899 to early Edwardian
Condition: Original patina, marks, foxing and wear to the paper labels. No chips to the bottle, residue inside bottle (care required).
