An unusual & very decorative hexagonal gilt metal lantern in the Gothic Medieval style, perfect for a church or chapel conversion or a Victorian period property with Gothic influence.
Date: late 19th – early 20th Century.Condition: the lantern has lost some of the gilt finish allowing for a graceful aged finish. It is possible that it spent some time outside or in a shed which may account for the weathered look! It does not appear to have been used for lighting as there is no candle wax evident inside or around the sconce. The glass panes are probably replacements as are the two nuts which secure the chain. It is largely free of damage with the exception of the top of one small decorative details (look to right above the front window on the first photo).
Height: 56cm (22″)
Width: 24.5cm (9 1/2″) max
