ART DECO MARBLE INKSTAND ~ £90
An Art Deco continental marble inkstand with inkwell insert circa 1930.
Of comparatively plain form, this large and heavy (4kg) inkstand comprises of a thick base slab of marble with a full length pen well. The inkwell of simple square design contains the glass insert.
Made (I believe) of Greek ‘Eretria Red’ marble, this stand will make a great desk accessory; it has plenty of storage space either side of the inkwell. Ideally suited to those preferring clean lines over elaborate fussy design.
Date: circa 1930
Condition. Good functional condition. No major damage but there are a few little nibbles around the edges and corners. The felt on the base is probably a later replacement as it is a bit crudely cut.
