VICTORIAN SILVER PLATED CRUET SET WITH NEW REPLACEMENT BOTTLES
A lovely 19th century silver plated cruet set stand with six replacement new 100 ml glass bottles with corks, ideal for serving oils, dressings or even spirits etc. The stand has a diamond registration mark with the date 12th November 1859. The maker’s mark is JS with a star between the letters, but we are unable to identify it at the moment.
The stand has a rope style rim, over beaded interwoven strap work with a basket weave style body. It has a blank cartouche which could be engraved with your desired monogram. It has four foliate feet, and a detachable handle of foliate and rope design, incorporating bottle dividers.
This super quality piece will dramatically enhance a sideboard or table and would be a great talking point at a dinner party!
Date: Victorian during or after 1859
Condition: Good condition, with a small amount of tarnishing to the base. Bottles are new replacements (wash before use). One bottle compartment is smaller than the other five (so one bottle will be a tighter fit).
