A really lovely George III copper candlestick of ‘gun barrel’ form upon a square plinth.
The stepped base has three rows of very fine beading detail and the column tapers gently with a 3 mm increase in diameter from top to bottom. The gun barrel style is indicative of the Georgian period during the 18th and early 19th centuries and is also commonly seen upon furniture legs of the time.
This particular candlestick has a particularly nice feel to it and is of a lovely mellow copper colour. The base is loaded for stability and has vintage green felt applied.
Date: circa 1780 – 1800
