GEORGIAN SOLID SILVER SALVER
A very high quality Georgian solid Sterling hallmarked silver salver by London silversmith William Brown.
This sensational tray which weighs well over half a kilo (18 Troy ounces) is beautifully worked with a pentagon shaped scalloped rim comprising of 5 main foliate points each intersected with two smaller petal shapes. The interior is further enhanced with delicate foliate chased work. It sits on three shapely feet.
The salver is fully hallmarked with the English assay system: maker – William Brown, Sterling silver mark, London 1824 (date letter i) and the George III duty mark.
Date: London 1824
Condition: Very good condition with no damage. The hallmark is crisp and fully legible. Recently cleaned with little tarnish remaining.
