MIDDLE EASTERN LIDDED CONTAINER
A fabulous brass and enamel lidded canister of large proportions. Reassuringly weighty at over 1kg!
Beautifully and very finely detailed with mostly black enamel, the elaborate designs are stylised flowers, petals and foliate detail between two borders of paisley style bands. The lid has a similar theme.
Date: Early to mid 20th Century.
Condition. Great original condition. Not cleaned in recent history, it has acquired a lovely colour. The lid fits beautifully tightly. There are some shallow dings in the lid. Some of the red enamel highlights on the body are absent. Tarnish spots on the lid and to the interior.
