White & Sons, London
A monumental and rare pair of Victorian Gothic copper door finger and lock plates. This large and visually impressive pair are quite elaborate in design and also wrap around the door edges with cut-outs for mortice locks.
The right hand plate has both key hole and handle shaft holes, the left hand plate has four small screw holes for a pull handle.
When the doors are in a closed position, these awesome plates form a cross shape in a mildly ecclesiastical design, although they would enhance a pair of doors in any Victorian (or period) building. At nearly 28 inches tall, these make a very imposing statement indeed.
Quite possibly the best pair of their type on the market in the UK, these were made by White & Sons of 207 Oxford St, London.
