VICTORIAN CERAMIC JUG WITH PEWTER LID
A very pretty late Victorian blush ware pottery table jug with a flip top pewter lid. The ‘blush’ is dark pink at the top and Prussian blue at the bottom fading to white in the centre. The pretty purple and white pansies appear to be partly (at least) hand painted. It has gilding on the base rim and on the handles. It has a capacity of 1 litre (1 ¾ pints), which suggests it may be French.
Condition: Good. Some craze to the glaze and some small gaps to the gilding, but that might be just the way it has been applied. No chips. Marks internally commensurate with age.
Age: Late Victorian or early 20th century (Art Nouveau period).

Diameter of base: 11 cm (4 ⅜ in)
Capacity: 1 litre (1 ¾ pint)
