A delightful Victorian Rococo style solid Sterling silver bonbon dish by William Stocker.
This superb 8.36 troy ounce dish is beautifully worked, both to the body and the pedestal, with an elaborate foliate design. Both sides of the body have cartouches, one is blank and the other has a design of a crown with feathers and a gryphon head. There are two smaller cartouches on the pedestal which are also blank. The dish has two wonderful handles with cherubs either side of a face with elaborate headdress.
The dish is fully hallmarked with the English assay system: William Stocker, London 1877. It was retailed by Lambert of 12 Coventry Street.
