VICTORIAN LEATHER BOUND STATIONERY BOX
A late Victorian tooled and gilded leather covered stationery box with a dusky red satin damask fabric lining with some patterned paper. It has three internal slots for storing paper and envelopes. The base is a very thick card. A4 size paper does not fit inside without folding (internal dimensions below).
Age: late 19th century
Condition: Usable, but original condition with old untouched patina. Patch of leather missing on front edge of the base. One shallow foot missing on the base (a sharp nail is protruding, so surfaces will need to be protected). Surface marks, some wear to edges of leather and the corners of the thick card base. Some wear to the fabric on the front edge and a tear at the hinge area. Some ink stains inside the bottom.
